Women in end-of-life professions

Nominate someone for a spotlight

Put forward someone whose work in end-of-life professions deserves to be seen. Nominating yourself is fine, and common.

About you

Who you are nominating

We do not publish anyone's photograph without asking them first, so a link is enough at this stage.

In their own words

Every question below is optional. Answer none of them and the nomination still counts. They are here because the best spotlights come from the person themselves, so if this is you, or you can ask them, these are what we would want to know.

Why we ask for specifics

The spotlights that people actually read are the ones with something concrete in them. “She is deeply compassionate” describes most of this field. “She built the first pediatric palliative programme in the state and still takes call herself” describes one person.

So if you can only give us one thing, make it a specific thing she has done.

Nominating yourself

Please do. Roughly half the people worth featuring here would never be put forward by anyone else, because the work is quiet and the people who do it are not in the habit of announcing it. Saying so is not immodest; it saves us guessing.

What we will not do

We will not publish anyone who has not agreed to it, and we will not use a photograph without asking. If you nominate someone else, we contact them before anything appears. If they would rather not, that is the end of it and we will not ask again.
